Various treated papers in mahogany, cinnamon, chestnut .... Lots of surface texture: leaves from my garden, gold and lime-green beads here and there, drifting over sides of design onto base. 2390 September Song
But nothing melancholy about this one - it glows with lively browns: ginger, tobacco, russet & spice, and a touch of orange to add accent. Decorated with pressed cotinus leaves and a wandering line of gold beads spilling over the edge of the design. Surface waxed. Design laid mounted on deep stretched canvas base which was first textured with gesso then painted off-white. 16" x 12" |

2387/8/9 Calypso I, II, III
This design was formed out of one large piece of dyed and manipulated paper and was originally intended to be a triptych. However each piece is complete in its own right and can be bought separately. The colours are zing-y: cobalt, turquoise, ultramarine, teal & violet. As usual, lots of surface texture and sparse trails of beads. Waxed. Design laid on white-painted heavy card, in turn mounted on textured, white-painted stretched canvas base. 24" x 8" (each one same size) |

Elongated figures formed from handmade Asian papers and decorated with beads, raffia and touches of gold leaf. Neutral, oatmeal-y colours. Peaceful and calming. Background is Bhutanese paper with rough deckled edges, laid on stretched canvas base. 20" x 8" |

Mixture of papers, painted and dyed in dramatic dark reds with touches of plum, golden yellow and gold. Design fixed to background in such a way that it seems mysteriously to hover in mid-air! Deep box frame. 10" x 10" |

2382 Frieze with Bird
Card and plaster construction, painted with acrylics and emulsion then worked on to give distressed appearance. Design raised slightly above a ground of heavy, emulsioned, card. Narrow, cream-painted frame. 18" x 8" |

2381 Serendipity
Peacock colours: turquoise, cobalt, sapphire, purple and gold. Exhilarating! Vertical strips arranged in a vague inverted 'V' pattern seemingly held together with a line of shiny glass beads. Waxed finish. Design laid on textured, white-painted, deep canvas base. 12" x 9" |

Raised 4" x 4" square 'tile' with decorated paper surface placed centrally in the design. Inked/dyed in sunburnt shades of many browns, chestnut and ginger. Browns really can glow! This collage was chosen to be the 'flagship image' for the inaugural Salisbury City Art Trail in October 2005 and was used in all their promotional material.
